The Ambient Above the CURRENTS is a site-specific interactive performance piece held at Index Art Center, on July 27th, 2025, And was generated by Gabriel Boyd in collaboration with installation artist Amanda Thackray and the Newark wetlands project. During, three recording sessions were held wherein audiences were asked to mimic the sounds of the fauna that used to live in the wetlands what would eventually become Newark. These sounds were then layered into an ambient listening experience that interrogates our relationship with the sounds of animals past and present.
